People with no background in history commenting or posting on what is or is not historical. People who have not read the books, not even read detailed reviews of nor excerpts of books they are posting recommendations for. People posting recipes for potions that have no herbalism or brewing background, thereby posting things that could blow up, make sick, or even out right kill the recipient—with not even an inkling that is possible: with names like fairy wine or love potions. Equally, I see people posting that pretty normal regularly used herbs are sooper dooper dangerous. If you get all scare tactic on people about fairly mild herbs, they can become desensitized and think that actually deadly herbs might be safe. Don’t cry wolf people and don’t just repeat things because someone you think is an expert, but has no credentials said it.
Sometimes a google search of ingredients is enough, sometimes its not. Experience and/or education in the area you are posting about is key.
The worst is that the people who post these things are sometimes lauded and repeatedly recommended as experts in the areas they are posting in.
Safety is on the line here folks.
