It’s storming with lots of lighting. Should I collect storm water? Is there a special way? What is storm water used for?
I use it to add to some of my potions. Like I made a wormwood mead and I collected the wormwood during the storm and gathered water during it too. It was sexy getting soaked (I was far from the tallest thing around so I didn’t worry about getting struck. I added the water to the boil and then steeped the herbs in it and then had a mead I used as offerings for the Morrigan (who is known for calling down storms in battle), as a mild conscious altering potion, and for enlightening. In many traditions wisdom comes from the sky. It would also be useful for anyworks with Thor or Zeus.
I guess its a bit of both really. Witchcraft is a crooked path, and even most of those in a set tradition deviate from the exact way their teacher does it. I am dedicated to studying under one particular teacher and tradition, but I find it incredibly similar to other traditional witchcraft streams with its own approach. The Heritage Witchcraft I am practicing doesn’t do things the same way say Clan of Tubal Cain, or Cultus Sabbati, or Feri, or Cornish Pellarcraft does things, but anytime I pick up any of their outer circle texts for comparison—I see the same themes, same spirits or spirit types under similar names and so on.
Great question on the second half by the way, though actually a complicated one.Generally, witchcraft is not a science nor a religion as it doesn’t fit either dictionary definition closely. If anything witchcraft is an trade-art and spiritual philosophy-magical practice. (Though definitely many witches ally one or the both of science and religion together in their own art and trade). In most cases, witchcraft operates from an animist world view which is neither strictly scientific nor strictly religious. And I do not practice it as a religion nor as a science.
I also recommend baths too. You can do a very cleansing bath, but the advantage of kala is that it cleans your inside too. If you combine it with a cleansing bath to pull off anything unwanted that has become attached to you. It can be a very fresh feeling.
A third idea is to get outside far from anyone, and just scream, let it all out. That can be extremely freeing too.
